I have the honour to forward the en-
-closed copy of a minute by the Acting Attorney-General, dated
the 26th. Lay with reference to the conduct of Mr. P. Law,
clerk in the Attorney-General's Office, together with the
correspondence, a statement by the Acting Attorney-General,
Police Memoranda (one dated the 15th. April and four dated the
12th. ultimo) and a report dated the 13th. ultimo by a Committee
of the Executive Council which I appointed to enquire into the
matter. The report of this Committee was considered by the
Executive Council at a meeting held on the 6th. instant and the

Enclosure 5.
Council advised that Mr. P. Law should be dismissed from the
service of this Government. I concur in the advice tendered by
the Council and recommend that Mr. Law should be dismissed
with effect from the 8th. instant.
